Saturday again~yeah...spend my time on BB again...What else? Yes! Father's Day Program
...My father didn't attend attend it because he prefer GOLF~hehe
So...Happy Father Day......although my father did not join us...but still got other parents joined us
quite fun to have such program cause no DRILL =D thanks for L/cpl Richmond for such wonderful
program...

What else...talking about badges i aimed in Award quarter 3....
~Computer knowledge(Class)
~Art.Crarft and Hobbies(assignment....still thinking what should i do)
~Enviroment Conservation( not talk about planting vegetable..just write a simple report)
~Christian Education( E-Study on it~assignment)
~Recruitment( quite blur on it)

Haiz.....so many badge can do....maybe 3 out of 5 i will pass.
Hmm....Looking onward President Award(~.~ll)
Oh well i seek through the BBM Website...saw a lot old badges all about UK BB Badges
...and slowly i seek through what about Drummer's Badges and the qualifications

Drummer's





Awarded to Boys of 14 B.B. Age or more who have attended regularly B.B. band practice with good conduct for two sessions, who pass a test and who, in the opinion of their Captain, have attained a satisfactory standard or proficiency on their instrument. The minimum number of practices must be 25 per session. In the case of bands not having 25 practices in one session, regular attendance covering at least 50 practices in three Sessions may be taken as the equivalent. It is quite permissible for a Boy to gain more than one of these Badges, but to be eligible for a second badge he must qualify on the second instrument for two further Sessions. Boys must also fulfil the further conditions as stated for the respective instrument.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Membership of a Band for one Session qualifies a Boy in the Pursuits Section at Bronze stage, and award of the Badge qualifies a Boy at Silver stage. For the Gold Award a Boy must continue as a proficient member of the band for a further Session.

Drummer's Badge
Awarded to Bass and Tenor Drummers who have fulfilled the qualifications above.

The Drummers Badge is also awarded to Side-Drummers who have similarly qualified and are able to beat the following as laid down in "The Boys' Brigade Bugle Band Handbook":

a. Brass Band -
Long Roll (Open or Closed); four five-stroke rolls, hand to hand or four seven-stroke rolls either left to right or right to left; Paradiddle; beatings for March of their own selection 2/4 and 6/8 time.

b. Bugle Band -
Long Roll (Open or Closed); four five-stroke rolls, hand to hand or four seven-stroke rolls either left to right or right to left; Paradiddle; beatings for March of their own selection 2/4 and 6/8 time.

c. Pipe Band -
Long Roll (Open or Closed); four five-stroke rolls, hand to hand or four seven-stroke rolls either left to right or right to left; Paradiddle; beatings for March, Strathspey and Reel of their own selection - 2/4 and 6/8 time.

First Advanced Certificate
Awarded to Boys, of 15 B.B. age or more who hold the Drummer's Badge gained in a previous Session, have attended regularly B.B. Band practice for another Session and who pass the following tests.

(a) All Drum parts on p. 47 of Bugle Band Handbook.
(b) Any three selected exercises on p. 21-25 of Bugle Band Handbook.
(c) Understand and correctly use musical terms on p. 18 of Bugle Band Handbook.

Bass Drum -

(a) Flourish of sticks on march.
(b) Play the exercises 10-14 on p. 21-23 of Bugle Band Handbook.

Second Advanced Certificate
Awarded to Boys of 16 B.B. age or more, who hold the Drummer's First Advanced Certificate gained in a previous Session, have attended regularly B.B. Band practice for another Session and who pass the following tests.

(a) Read and play any Drum music at sight. One phrase in each of the following times-2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8-at correct tempos.
(b) Maintenance of Instrument.

Bass Drum -

(a) Roll notes of more than crochet or dotted crochet duration.
(b) Exercises 15-20 in Bugle Band Handbook.
(c) Maintenance of Instrument.

Compare to HandBook Qualification....
Play on any percussion instrument....exercise on a different beat or tempo as required by the
examiner...(same goes to advance level)

can see is a big different to get this badge last time...thanks god i have Advance liao ....
maybe next time officer/examiner can use the olden qualification to test our percussion hahaha

he been leading us since i was form 2...and soon he will be leaving for further study~

hmm..recall about band today...Band Time is always fun with Mr Lau (Band instructor)
yes~ i almost can play king's moutain adventure already....just abit mess at the Coda~
...hmm 3 snare drummer..one fat..one short...one skinny and tall...is playing snare in pesta next year??...now i already cracking my head on a drumline...or maybe i should let other to work for it?haiz....and also band formation~and next year SPM...have to lecture my parent before they lecture me...on my exam result..T.T..starting to get pressure~~up coming event it should be
*Cooking Competition in July*...haha...reminds me a lot nice food!!! that we cooked last year
Hope this year my squad can win! yeah!...and i believe WE can! =P

This is my new pencil box(QuickSilver)....through out my secondary year...my pencil box is always my pocket or i don't bring stationary to school instead i borrow from friends...
and now i have a nice pencil box which able me to keep many things such as..handphone,
earphone, metronome,zzzz just joking...just to keep my stationaries la...
